I must be getting soft ..

Comparativley. Not quite at Southern Faerie level yet

But it is Baltic up here. My old Bedroom at the top of my house (over 100 years old) has no real insulation and old sash windows. It is bitterly cold going to bed. Metal is burny cold to the touch, and you can see your breath as you breath. Any part of your body out of the covers turns to ice.

In the morning the windows are covered in Frost and Ice on the INSIDE !

Forget what it is like to be warm all the way through ... reminds me of being a student. Though they probably live like wee softies now ...

They don't make them like they used to Dave............people or windows.

That is not too dissimilar from my bedroom windows as a kid before my parents could afford to have the whole house double glazed. Doesn't half make you move around quickly once out of bed though!!

I love old houses but must be becoming a softie as I'd have to have all the mod cons now I reckon.

My windows in my truck do that, too. This morning I brushed the snow off the outside and scraped the ice off the inside.

You should see it with the heating off. That is with the heating "on".

My room is on the 2nd floor though. Fine on the ground floor, 12 inches from the fire in between the cats and dogs.

Still, at least it isn't too windy ... then it gets really tough.

Is it snowy with you Dave? Didn't seem to be any in the pics on the news from Prestwick yesterday. Loads in Livi - well over a foot in the garden from a week of the stuff....very glad to have doubleglazing etc as toasty warm inside!

No, nothing lying. Very hard ground frost - no wonder the Ryanair slid off the runway.

Bitterly cold, though.

bloody freezen here aswell, just in the outskirts of Glasgow, my house is circa 1880 so it has no real insulation. I had the heating on all night and all day..thankfully I installed a new boiler in September.
