Putting hot water through pressure washer
Hi guys, I tried this in my baby Karcher for the first time in the 4yrs i've owned it the other day. And it became quite lethargic and didnt like it. Has anyone tried this before? Are pressure washers not designed to use hot water??

I think some are but it says in the spec if they can or can't - you will also pay £600+ for one!
The prob normally lies with the water pressure. Pressure washers need quite a high water pressure and a lot of hot water comes from immersion tanks, etc at lower pressure, hence why yours might have felt lethergic. With a modern pressurised hot water system it 'may' work better? |

My Karcher specifically says not to use hot water. The ones that 'produce' hot water usually have a heater built in them that does the heating and yes, they are expensive.

I could be mistaken, but the water running through that machine also plays a role in keeping the pump cool. Running hot water through it will overheat the motor and seriously decrease its lifespan. I'm really guessing here as I'm not absolutely positive but it makes sense. Whoever knows for sure - feel free to correct me.

I thing they actually positively pump water through the system. So if you are using cold, then the water flow rate to your property is actually increased while the pump is running. Pumping against the hot water system is going to cause problems IMO.

My Stihl cold water washer says NOT to run hot water through it.
A machine to provide hot water will be big and expensive!
