VPC

For people on the East Coast, what is the time frame that you experienced from the port in NY to VPC (where is it at exactly) to your dealership?

The VPC for east coast is Port Jersey,NJ aka Jersey City(the port is NY/NJ). Time depends on amount of cars, priority, damage, and recalls campaigns the car requires. Also depends on the dealership and the amount of cars going there. So it could be 2-3 days or a few weeks in reality. Good Luck

Best way of doing it is finding out when the boat hit port then calling the 1800 number which seems to be at least a day ahead of the owners circle, the dealer should have the most accurate info if you want to call them. After it gets processed it also must wait to be trucked, cars headed to your dealer or in your area. When I tracked my Mini last year I had the luck of tracking it from the beginning to the end, I knew it was one of the last on the boat b/c of the production completion date and ship departure, so I assumed it would be one of the first off, and it was. It only took 3 days from arrival to hit my dealer, in lower NY. Pretty nice hope to have the same luck with the Bimmer in September! Best of luck to you!

Mine took 4-5 days from the VPC in NY/NJ to the dealership in Manhattan. Best way to find out is to call your dealer. Good luck !

Hi nawtyxes, is your baby in the Carmen? My car is and it arrives in NJ tomorrow. I talked to the salesman and he said he would expect delivery by the 25th. Which dealership did you use for your car? I used Passport.

DustU, my ship already came in. Came across the pond on the Aida and docked in NY on the 13th. Been waiting for it to be shipped to VPC and dealership. My CA has had no updates since the 13th, and isnt at work today for me to ask. Oh yeah I purchased through Passport, who was ur CA?

I am kind of glad that I didn't have to wait to get my shipped to US since my car was waiting right for me at the dealer. I don't think I could stand trying to find out when my car will be delivered every other day

DustU: My car is also on the Carmen --arrives in NJ tomorrow!! How psyched are you? I actaully began tracking its swim across the pond on http://www.sailwx.info/

Is your car being unloaded in NJ or Baltimore?

We're in the home-stretch now! :rocks:

I purchased my car from Jeff Nickolson. Very nice guy, well prepared for my test drive. No pressure, fair price. I went through the Internet, Edmunds. It was a great experienced. I am very surprised other dealerships do not respond as agressive to Internet inquiries. Their loss.

I am going crazy with the wait. I drive a 1997 Honda Civic Coupe with 127K miles. Manual, of course. As you can imagine, I am looking forward to the upgrade. Last night I told my wife that the new baby will be arriving in NJ today and she looked at as if I had two heads and asked me what was I talking about. It was pretty funny. She still a bit upset that I got a Manual, but I promised her to teach her to drive it.

It would make sense for the car to be unloaded in NJ. Carmen is only supposed to stay in NJ one day.

OZ, the anticipation is what adds a bit more spice to the experience. Trust me when I say that my experience picking up my baby after the anticipation buildup is going to be better than if I just purchased a car from the lot. I can do that anytime. Next purchase is going to be ED.

Sounds like me had it tinted 2 days after pick up. I wanted the same day but the place could not get me in. Good luck!

My car was at the VPC for 10 days and I live in NJ

I'm starting to get worried. The car was due to be delivered to the dealer yesterday but didn't show up. The 800 number says the car is waiting at the port for a vessel. The dealer told me if it comes in today they will get it prepped asap and delivered to me today. I don't want to miss my tint appointment tomorrow.

I'm amazed that they could track the car's every move overseas, but now that its only 10 miles away nobody has a clue where the car is.
