CIP 18.01

I just picked up my car from getting the headlight washers replaced (the passenger side one was sticking in the up position) and the service guy told me that they updated the car to CIP 18.01.

Anyone know what that version gives us?

Also, I noticed on my invoice that it says "CUST HAS OPEN RECALL 120905" Any thoughts on that? Just speculating, but could they be getting ready for a September recall for something?

CIP 18.01 fixes the OBD Port and there is another recall for the radio.

Is CIP 18.01 definately the "promised" September update? And what are we expecting it to contain?

The September update will be CIP 19.0

As said CIP 18.01 doesnt have much for the E90, only a small fix for cars whose radio didnt turn off and a OBD fix for certain cars that didnt allow non-BMW test equipment to read the port

"CUST HAS OPEN RECALL 120905" is for the OBD reprogramming

No confirmed details yet, but it should have amoungst other things the new personal Profile software for non-Idrive cars (So you can change settings like driveaway locking and DRL's from the instrument cluster) and hopefually MP3 software for Idrive cars

E90Fleet, Any news on RDS and/or WB (Weather Band) for iDrive cars? I REALLY miss the WB, especially because the manual that came with the car shows it in the iDrive screen shots.

And are we talking about MP3 for the CD changer only, or also for the in-dash CD in cars WITHOUT the changer?

No word on RDS or WD, but hopefually it will have
The programmers are very limited in what they can say about future releases

We are talking MP3 for the in-dash player. But hopefually for the CD-changer aswell

In the new german E90 catalog you can find the new CD changer being able to play MP3 CDs. But this will only work with Navi Business - not Navi Professional (answer from BMW customer care center).

SW update for the Navi Prof. (either CD changer update or in-dash) seems to be scheduled for later this year

This is the update we are hoping for

The E60 MP3 update has been moved and confirmed for October, but the E90 one still seems to be for September

First post here guys....just got my 325i a couple of weeks ago However, I noticed many people are saying that auto door locks and DRL's won't be here until september for non-idrive cars...just took my car in yesterday for my dealer to program auto door locks and DRL's...however I opted not to get the DRL's.

Howdy and welcome from another new guy

The September update is said to include the ability for the driver to change DRL and locks settings without the dealer having to program it.
