regret getting 19in rims
The stock 18in rims were a little faster than my current 19in rims. Second gear does not chirp anymore. Sooo sad.

hey... did you. um. by chance... get wider tires? or maybe a stickier brand of tire? yeah. Those will both stop you from chirping second, which would actually mean your car was FASTER, because you're not losing traction, you're USING traction.
YES, you should have gotten your 18's back, or they better have made you a HELL of a deal on your 19's for keeping your 18's. You should track/dyno your car with someone ELSES stock 18's, then again with your new 19's. as long as they are resonably light, and you went from RFT to NON-RFT, I bet your car got faster. Matt |

Is there a particular reason for not getting a set of forged rims? You get the best of both worlds.

You must have steptronic? I can still chirp in 2nd with 19" tires. Maybe your compound is much softer.

I think you need to go have a chat with your dealer cause me thinks you got a bum deal. You easily could have gotten a set of Volks, DPE or BBS with tires for that kind of money and kept your 18's.

I think the 179 composites rock. If you swapped for rims and tires for 4k that was not too unreasonable. You could have done it a little cheaper by going to BMW wheels and tirerack, but the bottom line is that 19" rims and tires are expensive.
