275's on e90??

BTW I searched and nothing really too informative showed up.
Also, I would be curious if 265's all the way around would fit. Thanks in advance!

Check out Dinan's website ... they've got a wheel/tire package that stuffs a 19x9.5 / 265/35-19 combo up front with a 19x10 / 275-30-19 in back. So it's doable with the right offsets apparently. (it mentions spacers for the front, so I'm guessing they're using M3 offsets ... something like et40 front and et25 rear and then pushing the front out by +5 or +10 to get it to clear the strut)

Nobody knows what the offsets are though because I doubt Dinan would tell, and nobody's stupid enough to spend $5300 for a set of Dinan wheels.

I'm really surprised nobody at DPE has tried to duplicate it yet. 19x8.5 / 235/35-19 is safe, but I'd like to stuff as much rubber in as physically possible.

Also, I have to imagine the change in rolling radius on the fronts (225/40-18 vs 265/35-19) has to screw with steering feel a little bit. But maybe not. Why not 265/30-19 which is much closer?

It's Dinan though, so who knows. Chances are they've never actually sold a set to a customer. Or they say it can't be lowered from stock.

yes it can be done..many of us here are running 275's in the back, myself included...265's too can work but i think they said it rubs full tilt..

I just had a tire shop fit a 225 width tire on my 8.5 inch wide rim

(they mounted a front tire on the rear rim... standard tire is a 255

) That sucker was stretched like no other...

Not only that, they scratched the rim...

So Im getting a new 162 rim and my mounting and balancing (for 5 tires... 4 on the car and a spare) is coming free of charge

Although I do not want to speak for Diesel as I think he is running the most agressive set up on this forum. I am pretty sure that 19x10.5 is an absolute no go. since you would probably want to use a 285 with a 10.5 at the very least so I can not image it would fit and especially without rolling the fenders.

i doubt u can fit a 10.5 wide wheel with 275 rubber on a +23 offset...major rubbage

Well my rears are 20mm offsets 19x10. You should be able to do it if you use a Falken or Toyo tire. You will need to roll the fenders.

I just thought that having a wider tire up front would reduce understeer. This kind of setup is what many e46 m3 owners use on their track wheels. I know dinan has 275/35-19 up front and 285/30-19 in the rear which i hear reduced understeer.

No problem. I run 275/35/18 on 9.5x18 ET35, no rolled fenders. I tried ET30 too but got some rubbing on big bumps.

Having 265 in front may be pushing it. I run 245 ET40 up front and it's very close to the strut (can't fit a finger between). I tried a 10mm spacer but that brought it too far out. That tells me 265 is going to be a very close fit, if it fits at all.

Also, will 265 fronts (and thus lower profile) your steering will become more sensitive to ruts and grooves in the road.

Dinan's website says they did it. Still want to see some other wheel maker duplicate it though.

I think that a 265, 275 set up would be pretty awesome. Also I agree that a non-staggered set up is preferred by some e46 m3-ers for the track.

Yeah, it would be interesting to know what offsets Dinan uses. I think they're balancing on mere millimeters of clearance.

If you feel the car is unbalanced with 245+275, one simple fix is to not use maximum width on the rears. I.e. 245 fronts and 255 rears or some such. Sure, total surface area is slightly reduced but grip and balance cannot always both be maximized.

I use Goodyear F1 GSD3 tires. I'll take some pics tonight.
