Alpine White people....

What type/ color tint have you been getting? I have been thinking about what will look good on my car when it arives and I am kind of thinking like a 35% smoked/ charcoal look. But I am very interested to hear what other people have been doing so I can make the best decision possible!

Hey, we're getting a little racist here aren't we? I prefer to be called "European American".

I have Alpine White, but no tint. Delaware does not allow any tint on the front (legally), and I don't think I would want anything very dark. I saw one in the pics from the East coast meet that looked really good, and I'm hoping to find out what type of tint he has. I might consider it.

I got the sunshades and now dont think im going to tint it. I've gotten numerous comments from people thinking the windows are tinted. White does look really hot though with a decent tint.

I'm not getting tint but I really like the looks of the metallic tint at 35%-50%. I think it's called Platinum. It looks reflective almost mirror like.

I got 35% on the side windows and 15% on the back window.
I also specified ceramic film.
I am very pleased with it.

Just out of curiosity have any of you heard of a tint called solar guard, if so what do you guys think about it? I have a friend who got solar guard and is now telling me to get it but what do you guys think/ what have you heard about it?

Its good stuff. I like it better then lumar. It is very think and hard to scratch.

I like the alpine/terra very much. If I had it to do over again I would go either aluminum trim or burl if I wanted to stay with wood. Poplar looks a little odd with the terra in overcast light.

Here its how much light gets through

So 35% is very dark ( only 35% of light gets through)
15% would be limo tint
50% is light tint

But you guys seem to measure something else ??

I am pretty sure thats what the percentages represent and the higher the number the more light that comes through thus the lighter...

5% is limo and sometimes the double tint limos with 5%
15% is sport ult. rear windows
30/35% is light and can see the person pretty well
50% you can see everything very well.

I hope that helps, IMO select the tint which looks best for the color.

JB 15%
SG imo should be 35%
AW looks good in both 15% and 35%
Artic 50%

I may put 50% on my whole windsheild. I am just to lazy and dont want to wait for it at the tint shop. lol
