Best price you've gotten...
This is the configuration...
Model: 330i Transmission: Automatic Ext: Alpine White Int: Black Dakota Leather w/ Alum trim Pkg: Premium + Sport Options: Nav + PDC + Rear fold down seats + comfort access Accessories: Ipod adapter + spoiler So it's pretty close to fully loaded except no cold weather pkg and the likes of active steering. The best quote I have received so far is $900 over invoice. Wonder if any of you folks found anything better out there. On the other hand, due to the need of PDC (sorry, don't yell at me, it's my girlfriend's car), it is most likely that it will need to be ordered. Is the deposit refundable in case she changes her mind while the car is being built? I asked the dealer, and he seems very vague about this. FYI, I'm in Norcal, if that matters at all. Thanks everyone!! |

I will try a few more dealers and let you guys know...
To be frank, all the negotiations I have done are either over the phone or email. Dealers would usually love your visit, then use all kinds of pressure possible to get you into bad deals. Thus, I am quite surprised that I am already hearing "$??? over invoice" kind of price from a few phone calls.
Of course, there are still crazy dealers over here that simply don't want to take a penny off while you told them you have close to invoice price quotes from other dealers. There are only 2-3 more dealers I would like to try, and that should be enough. I wonder if the arrival of the Lexus IS350 has anything to do with the dealers' aggressive pricing on the 330i. (Ok, I'll put my flamesuit on) Or just a total supply/demand question, as I see 9 out of 10 e90 in norcal are 325i. Not enough customers interested in 330i? |

In the Dealer Review section there are a bunch of deal breakdowns from various dealerships in each region/city. Here in Los Angeles I paid $500 over invoice for my 325i with SG/Black Leather, Auto, all 3 packages, Xenons and Nav - Pacific BMW in Glendale.
Take a look through the dealer section if you get a chance, there are a few folks from the Bay area who've posted their details. Good luck! |

None. I called John Jack, who used to be fleet sales at Nick Alexander, and has sold a ton of cars to family and friends. His son Chris works with him and quoted me $500 over on the first shot. Maybe it was a loyalty thing, I'm not sure. I am very happy with the deal though.

wow u certainly got a deal then. all the dealers i've talked to have all quoted me somewhere between 1200-1700 above invoice. i'm guessing it might have to do with the options too seeing that i'm only getting a 330 with 2 options. i guess i shouldn't think about it too much. there's always gonna be someone who got a better deal.

Exactly, Bill. I was so worried about not getting screwed on my last car that it messed up the whole buying experience. Pacific is a great dealership, its my second car from there, and in the end you didnt get gouged and you'll be driving and amazing new BMW. Life is great!

Beckham23,
I am currently trying to contact dealers outside of my state (only one dealer in the state, not budging of MSRP). Never tried to negotiate a car purchase over the phone/email, just wondering what worked best for you Have you found that emails or calls are more beneficial? And when contacting dealers are you asking them for a specific price or are they quoting you those prices. Did you catch Mr. Beckham @ the Home Depot Center last month? Thanks. |

Yesterday
Went to a dealer yesterday, didn't even ask about pricing and he said there's lots available and at a good price. Is it the car or economy or both.

Pei Mei...
Hey,
I didn't call any dealer initially. I just shopped through edmunds to learn the invoice price, and checked a few local dealers for price quote. They either call or email me in a few days. At the beginning, before I'm even aware of this site, I didn't expect to hear any "$???? over invoice" prices, thus, I didn't even tell them how much I am expecting to pay. Once I received the $1200 over invoice price from one particular dealer, I started using that as a guideline to shop around. I started becoming very straightforward and being frank that I am a serious shopper. If you can give me a deal, you have my business. If not, bye. That really saves the time from locking in a dealership for 5 hours over $200, you know what I mean. I bought my e46 M3 from this other dealer, and went there for test driving. And guess what, didn't even bother to take a penny off as they said the e90s just came out and can't do anything about the price. What I am saying is that my experience is been better through email/call than being physically present at a dealership, but that's just me. AND YES, I was at the homedepot center. But Beckham's performance in that game was rather disappointing. Fortunately, Zidane was crazily great as always, and the chance to see Figo one last time in a Real shirt is nice. :rocks: Quote:

As to the deposit, Cali law, the deposit is fully refundable if you cancel the order. Good luck with the deal.

Cute... Actually I have been working with the same dealer since 1995. I've been on the BMW side of the house since '99. I love it. I've learned a lot about these vehicles just from being around them so long.

Anyway, even if she puts in an order now, the car won't get here until 2-3 months later. |
