Illinois may drop front license plate.

I'm totally in favor of that, how about you guys?

Hell, if the state wants to make even more money....I'd be happy to pay $50 a year with my registration just so I can drive around without a front plate legally.

Grew up in NJ (front plate) and moved to NH (front plate). I used to just not run it in NJ. Got pulled over 3 times but never ticketed. It sucks, but it's not worth the hassle. Just take it off for shows.

It would probably save all these cash-strapped states a bunch of money on manufacturing the second plate...on the other hand they could start making more money off traffic fines if they kept the law.

Man, I hope IL drops it. That would be sweet. I'd lose mine in a nanosecond. But they're flashing the "safety" card. The front plate was a clue in solving a handful of crimes, so of course they insist millions of cars keep using them. Typical dumb government logic.

The states which do not have a front plate requirement are surround by states which require a front plate, Like PA and those states assume if you do not have a front plate you are from out of state and an easy ticket. Both NJ and OH look for cars with no front place since they are mostly likely form PA.
