Need some quick advice before taking my car to the Stealership

Whats up guys, I have an appointment for monday to take my e92 335 in because im getting LOOOOOOOONG starts (however i have no check engine lights...HPF? INJECTORS?) and to also have my e-brake readjusted.

Now i have 2 questions

1.) I had a HVI logic intake on my car for about 1 week, a jb+ @ 100% for 10 minutes. Do i need to worry about clearing any possible codes or anything? And if i do need to clear codes, can i do so with the generic tools you can purchase from autozone, pepboys etc? ( i see that even costco has a simple code reader/clearer for only 30$). will these tools be sufficient?

2.) when i was putting my stock intake back on i dropped the 2 nuts that hold the power steering resevoir to the PS bracket. the nuts fell into the engine bay and got caught by the belly pan. I have since replaced the two nuts with the original oem BMW nuts. However i am concerned that BMW is going to freak out when they find these nuts and think i have been modding or tampering with my car. Should i just take the belly pan off to get the 2 nuts or am I just being parranoid and its safe to just leave them in there?

You need a BT scanner to check/clear BMW codes, your average OBDII reader CANNOT see BMW codes. Remove the mods before you take it into the dealer.

Tap the belly cover and see if you hear the nuts rattling in there. Try to locate and remove it without taking off the cover if you can

will i even have any codes though? why is it that you cannot clear codes with the generic tool? i cleared many codes on my b5 a4, are the e9x just a different case? i just want to know if i should be worried about anything

Maybe you have codes. Maybe you dont. You can purchase a Peake scan tool and scan the car or a BT cable. You could also take it to your local independent BMW shop.

You dont know until you scan it.

you can use a strong magnet to try and find the missing nuts in your belly pan.. I had that happen a while back and took one of my sons alphabet magnets and fished em out..

Since the belly plan is plastic you can move the magnet around underneath and you might hear the nuts moving around once stimulated by the magnetic field.

Good luck! But, can you really blame BMW if they deny warranty work from you at this point? If they figure out the car is/was modded with a chip and intake, then they definitely can refuse to do the HPFP for free. Just be ready for that.

I would remove the mods and forget about the nuts. That's all you can do if you do not have a BMW code scanner and cannot get access to one before your Monday service. The generic code readers that you mention will not read some codes BMW uses.

I just called an independent BMW shop and they wanted 80$ to read and clear the codes on the computer. I'm not sure if its really worth it since I'm not even sure the car has thrown any codes. I really don't think/hope BMW tried to give me a hard time since the car will be 100% stock when I take it in to them. Can they even prove mods if they are not on the car when you take it in?
