How to tell if a car is equipped with MOST-bus?
Hey all-
I searched and searched and maybe I'm not searching right but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. The idea is this, I'm thinking about buying a 2007 328xi MT and want to know if it will have the MOST-buss. The car is four hours away so it's not easy to just look. Here's what I know... It has the Premium Package (bluetooth), and the cold weather package. No logic7 or nav. I know it is "CD-Changer ready" and "satellite radio ready". I want to add iPod to it, and know EAS, and MoBridge have products for this. I still consider myself an amatuer car tech, but I've done a lot of work with domestic cars in the past (some were full retrofits). Is there a good way to know pre-purchase whether I have the fiber optic buss or not? -Purdue Thumbs |

I think the most bus is part of the L7 system. I'm not sure at all actually. That's just my guess. I haven't really searched much about the most bus but I'm sure the dealer will tell you.

Yes, you have MOST in an E9x whether or not you have Logic 7.
Tom, does a non-L7, non-BT, non-Sat 2010 1-series have MOST? Might have a customer for you but the HU seemed to be blank at the MOST port behind the Quadlock... |

Some early e87 applications may still be analog, but since we don't see these in the states, it's not of any concern. The only change of 3/2009+ productions is that certain options (if not specified during ordering) are no longer prewired, the EU versions have been following this rule for years. Let me know what you need help on and I'll be glad to help.

You sure about that??
In the new USB retrofit guide is talks about cars built after 9/09 no longer get the most network as standard, only if the car has most equipment. Not really a problem as the most network is not part of the car at all, it simply hooks devices to the head unit, all coding is done through the head unit and it doesn't even need to be in the car. If your car has no most coding port you can buy it from the dealer, it comes with the cable and a connector on one end to go into the head unit and the other end comes with a cover/flap to attach to the underside of the glovebox panel. It is around £40 over here. |

They say there is no USB retrofit over here either, but there is documents for it, just that most dealers are clueless so you have to tell them document numbers. Even when looking at the print out they still scratch their heads though.
So we buy the parts, fit ourselves and then take it to someone with Autologic and get them to code it. |
