Exclamation Tire Pressure Sensor Question

I'm about to get some 19" wheels. I never fully understood the tire pressure system of the e90. Do i need to install some sort of sensor within the wheel and tire of my aftermarket wheels? What is the result if i do not? And how would i do this? Basically ive been in the dark about this until i've recently considered aftermarket wheels.

Someone fill me in about the important things i need to know? I've done searches but information is inconsistent and there are more questions than answers floating around.

No.

It just works.

Your car uses the ABS sensors to measure wheel speed. When one wheel is spinning at a different speed from the others, it is reported as a flat tire.

with all '06 E90s it uses the OD of the wheel/tire to monitor pressure changes. With the 2007 models, they went to the system that has a piece mounted inside the wheel.

Since you have a 330, therefor an '06; go ahead and change your wheels, just make sure to reset the tire pressure monitor after mounting the new wheels.
