Thank you for the info
EDIT: I finally figured out how to read the info. The 323i will have body-coloured door handles. Yay! But it appears it won't have Xenon headlights Last edited by icedragon; 08-20-2005 at 01:45 AM.. |

It's normal for the 323 to offer Xenons as an option. Probably the ACC wil be manual. It's still a fine car with almost as much HP as the E46 325.

I have noticed the 672 Six-Disc CD Changer $795 New - MP3 capability.
So what does this mean? 1. If you have CD Changer right now, it’s not MP3 changer? 2. The code is still the same, 672, so it’s not a hardware change or is it and just software update? 3. Can you update the current CD Changer to MP3 capable with the software update if that’s the case? Or I am worrying for nothing. Can anybody confirm if a current CD Changer has MP3 capability? Please advice. |

stevembmw3, thanks for the info. I may now look at waiting for the 323i vs buying the 325i. I am sure that the fuel economy on the 323i will be better. With the increasing cost of fuel this will come in handy.
Thanks again |

So in comparing the Canadian 323i and the 325i, here are the differences that I read in the article.
323i - 2.5 L, 174 hp - Style 154 wheels (very nasty-looking) - roof strips in black - single exhaust tip - manual A/C (no auto A/C) - no halogen foglights - halogen headlights (no xenon headlights) - no heated front seats - no cruise control - no through load with folding rear seats - HiFi 6 speaker sound system (no 10 speaker sound system) |

Will it be much cheaper than the 325i? I think the horsepower is enough for a 323i but I'm not too fond of the options :/

1) The professional headunit (radio) - Yes
2) Logic 7 - Yes 3) No Nav - Yes If there was a problem I would expect to be the other way around, no names display from changer and have name display from headunit CD. It's not a big deal but we want our BMW's to work without any glitches. One more thing, I can see the track (mp3 file name) names (artist-song.mp3) under List but not details once I pick specific track. |

Thanks for the link. The issue is with ID3 tags as suggested in the thread. The head unit CD does not read ID3 v2 tags and only v1 tags. I had one song with v1 tags and it did display the names correctly when the rest of songs with v2 tags did not display names.
