TPMS Warning today ...

Got a TPMS red-warning lamp today during my daily commute on Route 8. Stopped the car at the next exit and inspected my tires. They all looked fine.

Decided to go by a gas station on my way home and realised that my left rear tire required a lot more air as compared to my other tires. Was worried about a small leak from a nail or something but the pressure seems to be steady and did not require re-inflation after a couple of minutes.

Hmmm ... any chances of being just a one off incident or is there probably a small leak that I don't know about?

My tires are a bit old come to think of it ... have been using the stock tires since end of 2007 with 23,000km ... there is still quite a lot of tread left but maybe its time to get new ones anyways?

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but sometimes if its too cold the tire pressure fluctuates...someone correct me if I'm wrong, but do get someone to take a look at it when you have time!

to play safe, go by a tyre shop to do a check, as long as you can already identify the problem is from one tyre. u mentioned they are stock tyres so I pretty guess they are run-flat. with the stiff side wall of run-flat, they can stand for a while even there is a leakage.

Dear All - so I think there is definitely a slow leak from my L rear tire since I went to the gas station today and it required a lot more air than my other tires to keep to that pressure.

I've heard from somewhere that RFTs cannot be mended. Is that true? Will try to stop by a tire shop tomorrow during my lunch break.

If I need to get new replacements then I'll want to get another set of bridgestone RFTs as I do enjoy the grip and ride quality. Do you think they stock them at regular tire shops?

Any good shops to recommend?

Please keep me informed. Thanks!
