Need some opinions on buying 2006 330i

So i'm interested in this 2006 e90 330i in alpine white with terra leather for a daily driver, which is equipped with premium, cold weather, and sports package with the steptronic trans. The car has 37,000 miles on it and looked in good shape from what I can tell, no scraps, dings, or anything like that. The dealership has a 3 month/3,000 mile warranty and they are asking $24,999 for it. I know I can get a few thousand off, but my questions are... is there anything I should worry about after the 3 months of warranty are up? Is there any upcoming major maintenance with that kind of mileage? What would you pay for this car?

Just want to get some feedback to see if this would be a good buy or not

Thanks!

i hit 50k this week, the car is superb, no engine issues, nothing to worry about. the only thing that broke was the interior trim peeled and my LED's in my tail light just went out. other than that, you are good to go. the 330 is an amazing car, very well rounded and very fun yet predictable and reliable.

It's an 06 though, so it might be up on 4 years already depending when it was first purchased.

I think you can definitely work on that price though. Mine was a little bit more than that before TTL, and I bought it 8 months ago. Plus it was a CPO and has iDrive to boot.

sounds like a good deal. I paid $28,500 for mine back in Nov 08. It has everything I wanted. Prem package and idrive. The funny part were the hot cougar sale reps and their lack of 6mt experience. I had to take it off the lot and park it back inside after the test drive. They said they normally did that.

Can you get it certified? It would be worth the extra cash to have a decent warranty if the car does develop any issues. You'll love the 330.

Get some price off and you should be good, just keep in the back of your mind that if something goes wrong out of warranty, it WILL cost you, but I wouldn't worry about that for sometime.

Thanks for all the comments so far, keep them coming. Like DV has stated, could I buy an extended warranty for this car at this time? Looks like it's a solid car, which is what I was hoping for.

I recommend you get the car checked out by an expert at a different dealership. He can tell you if the car has ever been in an accident and what kind of shape the car is in mechanically. It's well worth the hassle and $100-$150.

I just bought mine a week ago from the local BMW dealer and paid $22k out the door so it was around $19,800 before TTL. It's a 2006 330i with Sport and Premium packages and had 27k miles.

It does not have a warranty, but they offered a 5 year 100k mile third party warranty for a little over $3k...that's 5 years/100k from the date I buy the warranty. They say it covers pretty much everything, and the service dept deals with the warranty company so I would not have to pay upfront then file a claim. I'm still contemplating the warranty purchase, but I have until I reach 30k miles to purchase.

I have a 2006 330i and it's been great so far. I am debating getting an extended warranty (my original warranty is up in August), but I'm sort of leaning against it as it's a bit pricey and from reading the forums the car seems decently bulletproof.

I loved my E90 330. It was a great car and drove like a dream when the RFT's were new.

Vinny:

I just purchased an 06 330i w/32,000 miles CPO from the dealer for $24,000. It is in PERFECT condition. The car is for my wife and, frankly, I am jealous. It is AMAZING.

Have an independent PPI done. Make sure the brake rotors are within spec(They are pricey at the dealer). If the car is solid, I would go for it. The 06 330i is a very special car in the US, having been improted only 1 year before it was replaced by the 335i.

Good luck.

1) Have your own mechanic look at it -- it's worth a few bucks and a little bit of your time.

2) Get it!

I bought my 330i new in October 2005, and have not had a moment of regret. Was just commenting today that I still honestly look forward to driving it every day.

It's the only car I've had that didn't bore me after a couple of years.

And, to make the equation even better, it's solid.

Enjoy!

Mine was CPO purchased 10/07. Only problem was no high beam on driver's side that was fixed under warranty. Car has been solid and reliable w/35K on the clock to date.

i think they're asking too much. i paid ~$26k one year ago, 30k mi, premium, cold, sports, CPO, with 0.9% financing for 60mo...and i still think i paid a bit too much. you'll love the car. i've had a few things go wrong with mine, like a bad coil causing a cylinder misfire, water leak on passenger door seal, rear right window motor and actuator malfunction, and of course the notorious lifter tick. otherwise, so far so good.
