I should have bought a KIA....

So my luck has been fantastic. My e90 ( which i have had a total of 23 days ) seems to get the attention of every idiot in the world. So far lets see. Ice from a stupid soccer mom to ny windshield and cracked. Someone scratched the Sh*t out of my trunk. The most recent was at my job as I was getting ready to leave work some prissy paris hilton wana be got out of her car and slammed her door into the side of my car. BIG NO NO!!!!! no there is a pretty looking gash on my door. I didnt think she had hit it but the when i got home i saw!!!!

Thank you for letting me vent have a nice day!

I know how you feel , 10 months ago I hunted down the perfect used 325XI, 3 years old 3100KM no dings or scratchs. Now I got two big dings from carless person opening their doors and kid next door playing hockey plus hit a snow bank and chipped the front spoiler. Should of kept the Altima?? NOT.

You guys need to park far away; far enough to be considered exercise.

There is a reason parking lots are so big, use the back where no one parks, i've found that taking the extra 1 or 2 minutes to walk is WELL worth it.

The problem with the strategy of parking in the far reaches of the lot is that the shopping carts then have all that extra distance to gain momentum.

I park in the far reaches of my OWN driveway.

Usally park far away and try to get one side at the end near the curbe to protect one side.
I have to admit one ding is partially my fault , a 5 minutes stop at ToysR Us right before Christmas, figured it was goingto be so quick.

+1 on parking far away, everywhere i go I park at the back of the lot. For campus, i park pretty damn far away; it takes me about 5-7 mins of a walk, and i walk fast. But over 2 years of ownership not a single scratch or ding.

True story... people really just dont care. My friend is like that. He is so absent minded he is constanlty swing his door wide open on his lil honda. He hit my old G35 before so I punched him in the chest!!!! AHHH if only i could do that to everybody lol

My car got a door ding from a brand new Merc C300......Another time while sitting in a diner I see through the window as a very large person parks their 1993 Saturn next to my car and opens their door with their foot! My lunch immediately turned to crap in my stomach...but later no dent! Hugging the curb payed off that time. Here in Oregon people are not as aggressive as back east.
When I lived in NY it was brutal. Between the outrageous insurance and careless drivers owning a nice car was very stressful. Everybody's car was peppered with door dings. Here in Oregon I can walk through a parking lot and see very few door dings on cars. Anyway...I feel your pain...

exactly, on top of idiots that never heard of buffer zone and decided to park it that far away as well, but manage to park it right next to yours. I never understand what those idiots were thinking.

Its kind of psych out when you park in the far reaches

Its kind of psych out when you park in the far reaches of the parking lot and then some monster truck parks next to you with no other cars in 100 yards.

Looks like another thread on this. For future reference, there is absolutely no downside to parking far away And if someone parks next to you when you do park far away (which is rare, most of the time) maybe they just admire your courage

I park far away ALL the time. No matter where I'm going.
