i just realized something

i'm using a motorola droid for bluetooth on my non-nav 2006 325i and sometimes, it lets out feedback noise, which sounds like "prrrrrrrt." not sure if it makes a difference, but the droid isn't listed as a compatible phone on bmw's site for the current 3-series.

caller id shows up on my radio screen, people on the other end say it's clear and that they hear a "beep" similar to the call waiting beep before we go live.

should i continue to use the droid with the bluetooth? is my electrical going to go out like in 2fast2furious when the cops shot the cars with those esd launchers?

I use a Nexus One with my car. I have navi (idrive) tho. However i think i have a similar beep.

When i hang up on a phone call either via the idrive system or my phone i get a very loud BEEP along with the hang up. Not sure what it is, but as long as the bluetooth instantly whenever i hop in the car, syncs my phone book, and accepts incoming/outgoing calls through bluetooth. Im happy.

oh, i also get that very loud beep as well.

I'm going to buy a Droid tomorrow (smashed my iPhone accidentally/sick of AT&T) so I'll see if it happens to me with iDrive.

My Droid does that with my LG in-ear B.T. device. I'm willing to bet its a Droid issue, not the BMW.
PS, beside that one issue, I LOVE my Droid.

I didn't get a Droid, because Verizon wanted to charge me $30 extra a month.... just for Droid service, so instead I got an Env touch and I love it. Plus I hacked it so I got the navigator, social beat, and some other goodies for free.

i forgot to mention why i asked this, but my friend has an 09 m3 and the dealer had told him that if he tried to pair his droid, that "it would mess up the computer system"

probably just some dealer bs!
