happy Hour?

There was a big round of PMs about having a post meet happy hour. So what happened? Why would we all let such a fun topic wither and die?

Ok genius meet organizers - do it again!

I heard rumors of this as well--but I had to return my Ford-Explorer-driving-college-buddy to Arlington. What happened?

I started the last round of PMs for HH. Registering your preferences, HH is harder to plan for than the meets There's parking considerations, traffic to worry about, location, time, place, HH specials etc.

Shooting for 2 weeks time...

Please keep this thread active. There was much interest expressed for HH during and after the meet. It was a pleasure meeting all of you...

I'd be up for a happy hour as well

What exactly is the issue? Some folks live in VA, some in MD? We can't just meet in the middle ... say in DC or Georgetown?

Sam, you're forgetting...the issue with DC or Georgetown is parking Unless we can park on the outskirts and arrange a shuttle...then I don't think DC will work. There's always the metro though...

Are you guys leaning towards a sports bar, college bar or chill lounge environment/setting? Casual or elegant? Noisy or quiet? I think we are incorporating dinner with into this HH, right?

Ase...yeah I've been there Huge Beers !! Food's pretty decent, as well.

I don't get how parking in Old Town is easy though? Also, the bar area is none too big for congregating.

What about that Pizza place on the same block, that's owned by a former NHL player...I can't recall the name right now.

Ahh... good ol Fish Market. Schooners FTW! As far as a happy hour goes there, yeah the bar isn't all that big.

The pizza place was the old Armand's ... I'm not sure if it is still called that, but it's still there. Small bar upstairs if I remember correctly.

If we're talking Old Town, I think Union Street has a bigger bar and food too. And there is plenty of public parking via the garages around there.

If folks wanna take metro, there are plenty of places in D.C.

Public Parking Garages

Like I mentioned, with Metro we lose one of our main constraints. I also have prime private parking a block away from Dupont Circle (about 6-7 cars max). We have a diplomatic office there.

Let's keep the ball rolling....

Their next scheduled meeting is tonight...too tight.

LOL, what's wrong with public parking?

Seriously, if you got a hook up for private parking in Dupont, I'm in. Rather drive in and park then take metro.

We can all hit 18th Street lounge... or Donny since you're from Miami we can go to Cafe Citron for a little Latin feel
