Hi all

A newbie here but I hover around UK M forums normally but am based in Tas. I have a E46 M3 and would like to move to an E92 M3, but most probably will do this after an E92 335I to E60 M5 and then on to the M3, but have to sell my M3 first.

I hope to be able to add some value, I'm a seriously dedicated BMW enthusiast and love getting my hands dirty with DIYs and programming with my GT1 and OPS system.

I've seen your 135I for sale for a while, what do you think of it? I take it you've moved to an E92 M3? I've often thought about buying a 135I but am not convinced it is the right car for me.

Welcome! Like Alpine I have had both 135i and E90 M3. To me they are chalk and cheese.

Yes, I know they are two different cars but was after general impressions. One thing I like is the M car character which the 135 would surely miss.

They are different, I just come home from a short drive, hmm the sound of the M (slight exhaust mod included), feeling of the steering, the roughness of the ride, no comparison. The 1 is an every day BM, with a BIG kick.

No, the 1 is/was my wifes car and the M is mine. We actually bought the M first then sold an Audis S3 for the 135i. Since, my wife had bought a TT-S hence selling the 1 (looks like it may go this week to a 62 Year Old gent).

Enjoy

Hi NBTBRV8,
welcome to the M3 forum. The more members the better. I am also located in Tassie and I have moved from a 135 to an e90M3. The M3 is much better than the 135 (but definitely not twice as good!!!) The M is more a jekyll and hyde car. It can feel like a 135 when you drive relatively calmly but is in a different league when you press that 'M' button, especially on our winding Tasmanian roads.

If you want to move to and E92 now I believe Hobart Autohaus may have a sl used SG E92 M3 available at a very good price. I saw it on Saturday. It was in excellent condition.
