Run flat tires - flat tire experience
I got my first flat tire today, at 4,500 miles.
I love these tires, and also the fact that I purchased the insurance for tires and rims. This morning I started driving and immediatly noticed the car behaving different (like pulling to one side), and then came the flat tire warning signal. I drove around the whole day (no speeds over 50mph allowed). At the end of the day showed up at the BMW dealership, and they gladly replaced my tire after I provided my insurance information (Easy Care - excellent!). I didn't pay anything, but the transaction totalled shy of $400. They also explained that the Easy Care insurance is not tied to BMW - I can take my car to any tire service shop (in case I get a flat tire in a place far away from a BMW dealership). I think I'm paying $5/mo for this insurance which also cover the rims. With this incident it's almost paid for! |

I think the wheel & tire insurance is worth it and I got it when I bought the car.

I'd still rather have a traditional space saver spare and normal tires. |

Wow, I just got my second flat tire, in less than a month. That's bad luck, as I have driven more than 6 years without flats.
This time was coming back from Key West, a lot of road construction, my tire was a punctured by a 3 inch nail. It actually didn't lose pressure, but the nail was sticking out and made a lot of noise. Again, great tire insurance, the replacement was a breeze. |
