Talking Winter Tires are in!!!

Yesterday I just got my new winter tires for my stock wheels. I got the Bridgestone Blizzak's. I got them in 225/40-18 for front and 255/35-18 for rear. From my research these are one of the best snow tires around.

I can't wait to try them now. I hate snow but with these I am really looking forward to blowing by those SUV's.

Not with 255s on the rear. Narrower (to a point) is usually better with winter tires on ice and snow. Why didn't you go with 225 on all four corners?

I put my winters on this weekend and went for 225's all round. Here are some comparative pics. Went from summer Bridgestone 255/35R18 tires (back - front are 225/40), style 197 alloys to Dunlop - Winter Sport M3 DSST 225/45R17 91H tires, Bayern M5 Replica 17 x 8 5x120 38mm alloys. All RFTs. Torqued at 90 ft/lb (122 N/m).

For those who like before and after pics... side by side, stacker, before (summer) and after (winter).

looks good tirana. I think we are going to be seeing a lot of 3 series with those M5 replica's on this winter. I've seen a couple of other posters mentioning them and I put my own M5 replica's (with Dunlop boots as well) on yesterday

Cool winters. I get mine on this Thursday, tirerack shipped directly to my dealer and then I just had to wait for an appointment (we've been getting lots of snow the last 2 wks so they are swamped with tire appointments). I got the 225 17s all around Dunlop M3 DSSTs on the ASA JH3 wheel. For those canadians interested the final cost in CAD$ was $1803 including all tax, shipping, duty, and brokerage. My advice if ordering from tirerack is to go with UPS as my FEDEX special request took forever and really only saved me 20-30 bucks in brokerage. I've heard of UPS shipments entering canada in a couple days. MIne sat at the border for 2weeks just for a paperwork back log Anyways, can't wait to plow around in my 335 come Thursday (my civic is really boring me right now, but its much safer in this snow).

I got them from a place in Queens. But the price was similiar to Tire Rack. These tires where very hard to get. I gave him a list of tires and he was able to get these. As they where my first choice.

tirana, thanks for referring me to your pics. Your car is even the same color, in and out, as mine!

You made a great choice on the winter rims. They look great! - that style definitely doesn't look too small for the E92...

Ahhh, but that was a 328xi.... Have 18" M6 replicas on order for the new 335i. Those rims will find a new home on my spouses 335xi. Great choice with Monaco Blue and the beige interior. Needs a bit of work to keep clean but has a wow factor. New car is Sapphire Black on the outside/black leather inside - and I really like that too.....
