Montego Blue - resellable in HK?

Hi all, as I mentioned on another post I'm looking to buy an E92 soon. I love the look of Montego Blue but several HK friends have told me that the color looks like its for young kids and while it would match on a Honda Jazz for a 22 year old, it doesn't match the BMW b/c it's not a "classy" color. I may need to sell the car in about a year so I am wondering your opinion on whether it'll be really hard to sell the car, compared to say a black or grey. Would YOU buy a second hand E92 in Montego Blue if it was in great shape and a fair price, or would you pass just because of the color?

Also, I am torn between beige or black for the interior. Salesman told me that the light colors are easily stained by blue jeans and recommended black.

Last does anyone have a sales agent at BMW that they recommend I go to? I didn't give my biz card to the agent I spoke with so I can jump to another one. I didn't get a great feel from this guy.

Speaking from personal feeling, I think Montego Blue will be fine. The coupe is supposed to be even more sporty then the sedan, and the blue colour fits well with this sportiness. As for the lack of "class" or refinement, I think that's not the case either. If you look at the new Z4, many choose the blue colour as well (even the brochure shows a blue Z4) as it seems to suit the free-spirited refinement that the Z4 brings. Besides, many people in Hong Kong care less about the colour then the brand of car you drive. So long as it's a well-maintained BMW, you will be able to sell for a reasonable price. Because it dosen't matter what colour the car has, if it is well looked after then you can fetch a decent price. If it is all banged-up with scratches and dents all over the car, then of course the price will have to be lower.

honestly speaking montego blue is a very nice UNIQUE colour and it's a colour you either really like or hate, so IMHO if you are planning to sell the car after a year it's better to get a more common colour like grey or black cuz it's easier to sell for sure (not saying montego blue is ugly)

go with black leather as it's easiler to maintain.

and it matches up with the blue really well.

Ok, so I decided to go w/Montego Blue and called BMW to check on the stock they have coming in and there are NO Montego Blues in the Jan/Feb production that's on the boat! So I've reserved a Black Sapphire w/black interior and aluminum trim. I do think the color is sharp, but everyone says its a PITA to keep clean...

Also, has anyone had any success in getting some discount or free accessories if you go in together with a friend and buy a couple of cars at the same time?

Maybe I didn't try hard enough, my brother-in-law (a 5-series) and I bought our cars on the same day from the same salesman, we only got the first year tags, extra sets of carpets, and I got the folding mirrors on my e93.....

i personally LOVE Montego Blue, but it really depends on what buyer thinks, in my case, my dad never like blue cars, so any blue is out of the question for me ..maybe the Golf R or some Audi RS series? who knows

but yes, just go with what you like! i would wait for the color if thats what you want! dont force yourself getting something that its not 100% of your liking and at the end regretting...

thats why i always follow suri's moto
一係唔買,一買就應該買哂佢, 買盡佢,買最岩自已!

Blue is not welcome mainly because of Chinese superstition. Anyway, my first BMW is of metallic blue. Montego Blue E92 is very unique, seldom seen on roads. However, if you are thinking of resale in a short time, it is not as popular as Graphite, Black or White honestly. About interior, my E93 is in cream beige upholstery. It may not be practical, but I like it, it looks elegant and fits perfectly with my space grey E93 IMHO.
