Yup, known limitation. I have to say that I am quite impressed with the speed of the interface. A lot of people said that it was fairly slow, but this seems to be quite responsive.

Its a different between the Navigation Professional (slower) and Navigation Business (faster).

500 songs seems plenty, with my last ipod thing I could have 5 folders if each was 500 I think 2500 songs is way more than enough. Why would you need more than that?

Hmmm I dunno... maybe it is only 500 total. That would kind of suck. That's like $1 per space for a song. Not worth it in that case. I mean you can fit a hundred sumthin songs already just on an MP3 cd.

500 songs is a lot of music to have with you but for what this thing costs it shouldn't have any limitations.

500 Songs per 1 Playlist = 500 Songs
500 Songs per 10 Playlists = 5000 Songs

and so on ......

I have just 12 playlists in my IPod ==> in my car 12 Playlist = 6000 Songs possible

Is there a limit to the number of playlists you can have?

I'm confused as to what the limit actually is here?

For a second I thought you were gonna ask the dreaded newbie question: "How many songs can my **blah blah** hold?"

Hey not quite for sure but I think that the Nav bus and Nav prof are different options in Europe and in the States it is just one Nav system I think it is professional.

To make things even more complicated. The non-Nav Radio "Professional" is made by Alpine and plays MP3´s just fine....

and I think the new Nav system has the capability to play Mp3 cd's so you should be good with the pro bro

My interface isn't that fast! I was watching those videos thinking "Man, he must have chipped his iDrive!". The only thing I can think of is that maybe his iPod is faster than mine. I have the new 4 GB Nano. Maybe other models are quicker?

I don't know how technically skill you guys are, but this tip is real simple. To try and make your ipod a bit faster. You can defragment the ipod's hard drive.

Once it's connected to your computer, in Windows Xp/2000, simply go to MY COMPUTER, right click the 'IPOD Removable media drive' (usually, it's the name you gave it when you set it up) and go to >Properties. Click the "Tools" tab, and select "Degrament". Then just start it. It will take about 10 minutes or so depending on how many gigs you have.

The more songs you swap in and out of it, just fragments the files a bit more, hence, degrading handheld performance, let alone exteral performance. This may be a great improvment to some, and others, nothing much.
