Its expensive alright - the main complaint I get from people I'm speaking to on it is that if I don't speak directly, and I mean directly, towards the mic, they all say they can hardly hear me - creates problems while pulling out of junctions and looking around for example - don't know if my mic is particularly sensitive or directional?

It is one of the best features of my car. It pairs perfectly with my Motorola Razr v3. The voice recognition works perfectly, even with the windows and sunroof open. The microphone is excellent. It has never botched a voice command of mine- ever.
....I speak american english. Maybe it has a harder time with an Irish dialect.

it's worth it just to avoid having to wear stupid looking earpieces for talking on the phone while driving

the integration is really nice, the only problem would be if you frequently have passengers, as they'll now be part of your conversation with the speakerphone

It is definitely worth the money in my opinion. I have had two E60s in the past, both with less than perfect bluetooth telephone preparation. My main criticims of the bluetooth system in those cars were lack of volume, inaccurate voice recognition and periodic failure to answer calls.

All of these problems appear to be resolved in the E90, probably just a software upgrade, but resolved nontheless. I also have an SPV (the C500) and so far (I've only had my car 2 days) it has worked perfectly, in terms of call quality and making and receiving calls. The address book does not transfer from the C500 to the car, but then again in my E60 the SPV did not work at all.

I love my SPV and yet I was prepared to change to another phone when I took delivery of the E90 as I did not expect it to work with with the BT system - I have been pleasantly surprised. The inability to transfer the address book is a minor inconvenience, but one I am prepared to live with.

HTH,
Phil.

Only with the premium package in the USA. Or as an a la carte option.

It's wonderful. The integration with iDrive is great. Just make sure that your phone is fully supported and that it will download its address book into the car. If that works, then it's a joy to use. Everyone hears me fine.

Definitely worth it. Sadly its one of my fave features in the car. My phonebook transfers, which makes a big difference imo.

Only thing i dont like is the ringer's tone...annoying to me.

GET IT!

Question - does the BT read the sim card and phone memory, or just the sim, or just the phone?

Voice and blue tooth is standard in Australia, dealer didnt even mention it when i looked at the car. I must say if it is an option i would have purchased it. I love it, works perfectly everytime and makes life easy. I love how if you take a call and get in your car you can transfer your call to the car... Awesome.

A couple of people here mentioned that it's much better being able to download the phone book to the car? What's the advantage of doing that? Is that the only way to call a person stored in your phone's phone book? What's the alternative for those whose phone can't download the phone book into the car?
