Remus Sport Exhaust

Well the car now has about 3600km on the clock and later this week its going in to get a Remus exhaust system fitted. I was going to wait for a year or so but thought stuff it, specially considering that my BMW dealer is ordering it in for me and fitting it. Definatley confirmed that as long as the system doesn't set of any warnings in the cars computer system there is definately no warranty issues. Will give an update after it has been installed.

Sounds great...I've just ordered an Eisenmann Sport system also through my dealer, should be here in around 4 weeks. Apparently 99% of Eisenmann's sold here are the Race but it was just too loud for my liking.

I'm confused...I thought the dealers didn't like dealing with non-BMW parts. If my dealer did it I'd put one on in a flash!

Thanks Andrew....I'm assuming the car will not need to be retuned for this exhaust? No CEL problems?

Yeah I thought the same but to my surprise my dealer seemed quite happy to supply and fit one of these...they've just fitted one to one of their demo E92's.

My dealer told me that since they added a body shop for repair work to the dealership they are more than happy to do aftermarket installations. That changed my attitude on things pretty dramatically. I was a bit hesitant to ask about thier thoughts on after market exhausts but was very surprised when the response was that they had a good relationship with Remus and my sales guy showed me one that they were fitting to a 335. Sounded sweet!!

Good choice, the Remus Sport has a great sound but keeps things comfortable in the cabin. It looks great too!

No, as it a rear muffler and connecting pipes only.

If you went for a full Akrapovic Titanium system you would require an ECU tune or otherwise you would get a check light.

Unfortunately there isn't a Remus Sport for the E90..otherwise I'd have one in a flash. I did see and hear an E92 fitted with one and it sounded gooooood!

Ok, here are some photo's of the finished result. I will also try to download some video as well but not sure what the sound quality will be like. notice on the pics that they took to the tips with an oxy torch to blue the chrome up to try and mach in with the cars colour. seeing everything else on the car is black I wasn't too keen on chrome thinking that it would stand out too much. Please excuse the long time between starting the car and giving it some revs, engine was stone cold and wanted to warm it up just a bit before giving it a bit.

Yeah, I laughed as well. Don't think they liked the fact that I scared the crap out of them.

Sounds great but $2900 I am sure we can get it done for a lot less in Perth if I am not mistaken.

They seem to cost around $2500 on most websites if you want to buy them direct, plus shipping. Then you have to pay someone decent to install them. If you can get it done cheaper over there then it just makes the decision even easier!!
