7mm Hex Wrench?

I'm having trouble finding a 7mm hex wrench so I can do my brakes. I keep finding 6mm & 8mm but no 7mm. Is this some weird size only bmw uses?

7mm is a pretty standard size for brakes. Most DIY shops should stock them

Prefer the long ones for brake jobs. They clear lines better.

Buy something like these: http://www.matcotools.com/ProductIma...PL6T_group.jpg

Out of curiosity: What the heck is 7mm on the brakes? I thought bleeding valves were the smallest size, and are 9mm on the back and 11mm on the front (clutch valve is also 11mm). Just curious. Good day.

I think he is referring to the caliper mounting pins which are internal hex (aka "allen") head.

Gear Wrench makes very good quality stuff.

Yup, caliper mounting pins, some people take off the entire caliper with those two big bolts also. If you can reach the 7mm hex pins, its easier. I tried both methods, one of the 7mm looks like it was stripped..., by the dealer?

I love this place for a source of cheapassed crap that will break or bend at the most inoportune time and place.
FYP. They're ok for toys, but just don't think you're ever getting decent quality reliable tools there.

I remember reading a 7mm HEAD (maybe edited.. or I'm just getting old ), obviously too darn small for anything on the brakes. A 7mm hex is pretty beefy indeed. Thanks man.
