New rim pics / FS: 17" OEM rims & tires

Here's some pictures of the rims & tires I bought yesterday with Phawx's help. Spent this afternoon doing a clay bar and NXT 2.0

Before you say anything, yes, I am starting to think about a mild drop.

Also, I'm also selling my OEM 17" style 187s with Continental Sport Contact 2 SSRs (run-flats), which have less than 200km on them. One rim has a mark on the edge, barely visible from side and the others are perfect. PM me if interested.

Thanks oda! The Z1* do feel "softer" than the stock RFTs when hitting bumps and road irregularities and they are definitely more grippy, but I *think* they are noisier than the stocks. But I might be imagining it b/c I didn't really pay a lot attention to the noise level on the original tires.

I do wonder if I should have held off til I found a shop that had staggered versions of this rim. Oh well, at least I can rotate these. There's a 5mm spacer on the rear right now but the shop suggested a 15mm spacer kit if I want the rims to be more flush.

R u sure your oem wheels r 17" or style 189?
style 189 is 18" and usually come with staggered fitment(18"x8",18"x8.5").

I see that you like that meet-up location!

Let's TRY to organize a proper "photoshoot trip" sometime (and remember to bring my camera for it), considering Saturday's attempt failed miserably...

As for the tires, you're probably not imagining it, I recall them being slightly louder than stock (about the same as AD07)... but in terms of grip and bang for the buck, I think they're the best for 18"!

Getting spacers instead of actual staggered rims is probably a better bet for your wallet if you just want looks, cos that way you can rotate them... and when the tires wear out (rears will be quicker than fronts) you can just replace a pair at a time, instead of having two different sizes to contend with.

Ah gon, you're totally right, they are style 187 not 189. Thanks for the catch! I edited the description above to correct.

Great track rims if you don't run 6-pot BBK!

That rim look nice, by the way, that rim 187 is using on E93 except 335i, seem you have replaced stock with 187 before, am I right?

Actually, these were stock on my 2010 E92. It seems they changed from the 185 that was stock in 2009.

Does anyone want to trade their 185s for these 187s? I know a member that is looking to buy a used set of 185s so I'd be willing to do a straight trade for 185s in good shape.

David - 17"... I dun think it can fit traditional 6-pots... I know my civic can only fit 4-pot if I have 17 so I assume it's the same with the BMWs...

Renus - I think his car came like this...

Garage List
2006 E90 330i  [6.00]
this 18" cannot host BBK 6 pots calipers for its thickened inner wall. i will also doubt for a 4 pots caliper with 330 disc, without measurement verifications beforehand
