BMW OEM 6 Disc Changer Question....

Does anyone here know, If the BMW OEM 6 disc cd changer transcends models? I mean, would I be able to buy the actual cd changer from someone with a E46 and then just buy the trim piece for the trunk of my E90 at the dealership?

Damn that really sucks cuz I found an awesome price on a hardly used E46 one and I cant seem to justify paying what the dealership quoted me they said $670 for the CD Changer, $87 for a trim panel to fit around it, and $30 install fee!!!!!!!!! I really want a CD changer but damn I dont know that I want it that bad LOL

I am picking up my new e90 tomorrow. I have ordered Satellite and am considering the dealer option to install a 6 disk changer.

Question for those in the know:
1. Where is the changer, in the trunk or dash?
2. If in the trunk, I have an Ipod that I plan to hook into the audio system. given the Satellite radio and Ipod, has anyone really needed the added 6 disk changer in the back? Is the dash unit enough?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

You probably have the AUX VOL set too low; try Increasing the AUX-VOL if you have the BMW Professional Radio..

Your right, I confused the two.

Try playing with the AUX Vol. and make sure you are using a dock connection for the AUX cable rather than the headphone jack.

It seems to me that the thing to do is to get an iPod, the cd changer seems to be priced as to discourage people from buying it. I will be purchasing an iPod once I take delivery of my 325xi.
