Restaurant help please (near long beach)

so im kinda in a pickle here... my prom is on May 15 and buca (some italian place in pasadena) do not take reservations after 5... and i need a place to eat that night. The asians in the limo/party bus do not want asian food... so im trying to go for anything but asian food that could take a reservation of 28, near long beach (prom is on queen mary so anything near that would be nice), and tastes decently good without spending more than $20 per person. any advice anyone? anyone that live in long beach maybe? thanks!

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. there's no way you're going to find any kind of sit down restaurant for 28 people with a budget of $20 or less per person. The gratuity is going to kill you big time. Try hometown buffet.

Or try fat burgers, you can get a cheese burger and fries for $2.50.

Neil's in San Pedro might be able to accommodate your party. Just across the bridge from Long Beach. Ask for a set menu based on your budget and see what they can offer. Maybe out of your budget. Good luck and have fun at your prom.

Also compare J. Trani's in San Pedro. They have a banquet room and I think the food is a bit better.

Ports of Call Restaurant in San Pedro has a separate banquet room, and also an upstairs section to their restaurant. Upstairs section overlooks the water I believe.

There's a place in Long Beach called The Sky Room in the Breakers hotel (I think) that was pretty nice (like 14 stories up), but may be too expensive for your group. But I think they also have a first floor level banquet area that you might want to check out.

dont waste your money on a limo either. if I can go back I wouldn't have spent so much money on prom 5 years ago lol just drive your own car. I remember the dumbest decision of my life was paying for my date and her ticket, and now we don't even talk to each other now. That could of been 2-3 car payments!

youre paying for experience and memorable times. im going on a party bus and it'd be cool to go on one just once in your life. its not like its a daily thing, then it would be wasting money. just pay a bit of money and enjoy that one day, its a big part of your high school life because you can never experience it ever again AFTER high school.

im not sure about <20 bucks a person. Perhaps the restuarants with a banquet room. One guy mentioned ports of call and the Reef. I have been to both, and they are great. Maybe "mexican" spots like acapulco or el torito could accomodate ya guys.
