Check engine light flashed on for a second... then off.

Got my 09' 335i with 2400 miles on it.

So I was on the freeway cruising into town. I admit, I was getting on it for a little bit, maybe pegged it to 4500-5000 rpms 3 times. After having some fun, about 5 minutes later on the freeway, the car bogged for literally, maybe a full second. I then noticed the checked engine light went on immediately for a a full second, and then disappeared.

Drove the car a little aggressive on the way home to see if it would come up again, but nothing. I searched the forums as i know there are common problems with the hpfp and I've read where the light stays on for the most part. I've personally never seen a light come on and go off in any car I've owned without at least restarting the car. Very odd. My guess would be hpfp, thoughts?

Definitely odd, but could be an early sign of HPFP failure. Have you been experiencing slow starts or any of the other classic HPFP symptoms?

It could be anything...the place to start would be the dealership. Unfortunately they seem to be reluctant to do anything without the SES lamp lit. But there are what are they called, shadow faults that are stored?

Yeah. The car must have thrown a code for that to appear, so the dealer (or someone with a BT Tool) should be able to read it.

I should have mentioned that I haven't experienced any problems previous. No slow start ups, no lights thrown, and performance has been nothing but stellar. I guess I'll have to take it in... I knew I'd have problems, but I didn't think this soon. Hopefully it's nothing.

Since it lit the light, there is a code stored that a dealer can look up for you if you swing by and ask.
