Court help

Alright so a few months ago I picked up my catback exhaust and it was sticking 1-2 feet out of my car. It was 3 days after I bought my car and I did not have the insurance info in my car. On the way back home, I got pulled over by CHP and got a ticket for having the pipes out of my car and not having proof of insurance. The ticket is $350+ and a point on my record.
I am going to court for the first time this Friday and I am pretty clueless. I was wondering what I should plead etc..
If anyone has any advice for me please fill me in

Why do you get a point if it is not a moving traffic error?

lol wow that sucks. but I think they can give you a ticket anyways for aftermarket exhaust. I was pulled over too and I asked the CHP if he needed to see my insurance and he just asked 'is it under your name?' and i said yes and he just told me 'naw, i don't need it'

They can give you a ticket for an aftermarket exhaust if its too loud, many of my friends have gotten it before. However that is not the case here, I got pulled over for having the pipes stick out of my window, I have yet to get a ticket for having a "loud" exhaust .
What exhaust did you have?

damn I swear people don't read, he didn't get an exhaust ticket, his pipes were sticking out the window when he tried to carry his exhaust back. No it's not a correctable ticket.
plead not guilty, look for loop hole in DMV rules and hope the cop don't show up

Thank You!!! People really cant read for sht these days.

I think I am going to plead no contest. I got a no proof on insurance as well. I went 2 months ago to just pay it off but since my proof of insurance wasnt "official" they said that I need to schedule a court date and that the cop will not show. The reason why the proof wasn't "official" was because it was the overlap insurance from my old car. I had 10 days to purchase insurance after buying the car and I got my ticket within the first 10 days.

So yeah pretty much Im going to plead no contest and just tell my story and try to bargain with the judge. Anyone else have advice? Court is tomorrow at 10 in Malibu...

What exhaust did you have?
no it doesn't matter if its loud of not. It can be the same sound as the oem exhaust, but as long as they see that you have changed your exhaust to something not original (if they can tell), they have the right to give you a ticket for them. I didn't get pulled over for exhaust, I got pulled over for tints haha, so that's why i don't wana touch my exhaust yet, too much attraction from cops.
