Which map JB3?

I know this has probably been on a million times on here but I have been away for a while. I am running JB3 2.0 on map 5. i use Shell 93 Oct and have a DCI. I saw a thread that most people were using Map 5 a while ago but lately I have seen people using Map 3. Can anyone chime in on this ? Thanks

For those mods map3 is recommended but i still think most use map5. Map3 has been beefed up a little in the last few versions of the software so maybe that has something to do with it.

I thought you should be on map 3 also? With little to no mods map 3 seems to be more suitable. Map 5 seems a bit on the high side for just a DCI. I'll be recieving my JB3 tomorrow and hopefully map 3 is as beastly as everyone describes.

Glad that you haven't yet intstalled the JB3 yet feel map 5 is too high?

OP, start with 3 for a week and then try 5. 93 octane is all you need.

Map 5 is just fine with your set-up and octane.

If you have an AT, you may want to kick it down to Map 3, as your transmission will shift a lot smoother under partial WOT. It's all whether you want driveability or power.

I typically run Map 2 because it is very smooth and has sufficient boost, but when I want see blood on the streets, I will kick it up to Maps 5 or 7 on 93 octane.

Life is good...

Good job on being an ass. I researched enough to know what to do when i do recieve my jb3 tomorrow to install into my new 335i. I've owned enough turbo cars to know what could happen if you boost too much without supporting mods. Hopefully your motor will last you.

Have a nice day.

Although I use map 5 for a daily, 3 should be ample too for everyday use. I have dci, catless dp's and JB3.
