What does this do?

BMW group tester (GT1)

Its a module/ecu tester like BT cable/software.
You can actually find all info about it just by searching on the net.

I did read up on it. Wanted to know if anybody ever used it.
Any advantage with this product over the BT Cable?

It used to be the main diagnostics system for BMW. It was replaced by ISTA/D and ISTA/P

The thing pictured is not even a GT1 (thats a tablet type device), its the diagnostic head that connects to it, and it's a cheap Chinese clone that will probably fail.
