New mod, best so far!

Long crank mod!
2010 E90 LCI 335i November,december build.
2,200 miles on it. 93 octane. proper break in to 1200 miles. Tuned at 1500. started long cranking at 2200

Im not getting any SES, CEL, or limps yet. But man is it embarrasing for a new bmw to start like this.

Some times it does it, sometimes it doesnt. Car runs good otherwise and Fuel pressure via JB3 logging is OK.

Havent got anround to checking codes though with a BT cable yet.

Isn't it weird that only 335's are getting this HPFP problem, or are other models getting this problem too...??!!

Sorry to hear that dude

Thanks guys!

I know so annoying to have this happen so early and like a HALF-ASS HPFP FAILURE.
Takes a while to start but runs good.

My e92 335i had 20K on it when the full pump failed, but i never got long cranks prior to it failing just one day getting on boost, i got a Limp mode, SES, CEL. And went to the dealer and i got it replaced.

Yea same here. I mean the car is only 4-5 months old.

I want to go to the dealer but im not sure they are going to do much for me since the car is running good just long cranks sometimes.
I dont want to go to the dealer like 4 times to finally get a pump changed, like if they update my software and bla bla bla before they change the pump.

But i am not going to live with long cranks, im gonna go to bmw next week or 2 and leave it with them and see what they do and think.

Depending upon the dealer, some will replace if they hear a long crank right away.

That's just retarded that after 3-4 years this is still going on.....

I remember when I bought my 2007.5, I was thinking to myself, I hope they got rid of this fuel pump issue on the first 6 month production run. To hear this is still going on is disappointing....c'mon BMW, what is going on?? They even changed the software to prime the fuel pump earlier that I was saying it could be so long ago...and they still can't come up wih a permanent fix??

C'mon, I love their cars, the way the steering feels, the great handling yet solid comfortable ride, but they need to resolve this issue already.

Sorry to hear OP....

hah! I found my post, I guess the engineers didn't think of this back then since the new HPFP priming software just came out, right? Kind of scary...

Well went and got my car scanned and this is what came up. Nothing else, tuner codes or anything, all clean.

I run map 7 on my stock new car

2FBF:
2FBF Fuel Pressure at Injection Release
Error will not cause a warning light
Error is currently present

It came up in 2 different occcasions.

Funny enough, since i posted this thread, i have not had one single long crank!

Update, car is going into the dealer this week.

3-4 different occasions i have thrown 2FBF

My last time i threw a 2FBF code i also threw a 2AAF code which got my E92 335i fuel pump replaced.

so 2 different codes with them being throw multiple times, lets see what the dealer thinks about it this week.
Will update with there procedure and there fuel pump they install p/n.
