JB3 Question
I was talking a BMW tech who is a friend of mine and he said that even though the JB3 doesn't set off the CEL it still stores a "modified power" code on the DME.
Is this true? And if so, how to get rid of it so it doesn't void the warranty? Thanks in advance!!

That would a be called a tuner code and thats only if you are running like Map 9 on stock. Be sensible and you won't get a tuner code. If you do then a BT cable can clear it.

If a BMW tech hooks ur car up to the computer they have in the shop, all codes from the DME is sent to germany. Clear your codes and remove ur tune before taking it in.

If your running map 3, theoretically it should not throw any codes.
For peace of mind to you, I ran map 7 without having any codes come about. But yea to play it safe you will be fine with map 3. Oh and FWIW I installed a Jb3 on an older gentlemen's car and hes been running map 5 ever since with no problems from the dealer. If you are that worried, which you shouldnt be, you can always pick up the Bt tool. |

Map 3 on stock is perfect. You'll have the same or more power than a DINAN stage 2 with a JB3 on Map 3. Its good for any place that doesn't have anything higher than 91 (like cali).

Can someone help explain to me why a JB+ at default setting now seems to throw tuner codes with the new software yet a JB3 will not? I imagine they manipulate the boost differently? Thanks.
