I misunderstood the question, thought you were asking whether you should do it or not... so please don't do it! :-) IMHO, a deleted muffler sounds crude, cheap, and annoying.

My friend had this for a few days and it was annoying. He put the factory muffler back on.

I'm the friend that had it on for a few days. It was way too loud for me. I want more of an engine sound. I want to enjoy my car and worry every time I see a cop. They will definitely pull you over for that. I'm saving up for a BMW performance exhaust instead.

I never got pulled over for a MD, and theres especially lots of Cops in Pasadena. But I agree with you, the drone is a killer and its too loud from the inside. If it was not a daily driver, I can live with it.. XD

Plus mine had this funny air nozzle type sound that killed it. It sounded like I was peeling out when I would step on the gas a bit. Yeah the cabin drone was loud also. It felt like I was in my little honda civic all over again.

MD sounds okay. If you ever heard a nice exhaust, you would know MD sounds like shit.
If someone has to do it for performance stand point, I'll nod, but for sound? Ricer.

i've ridden in a couple e90's with muffler delete. they actually sound fairly nice from the outside. however, inside the cabin, i wasn't a fan of how loud it was or the drone.

that said, exhaust sound is subjective and tolerance for drone differs from one person to another.

I go to BMWCCA events and everyone loves my exhaust, which is a Muffler Resonator and Silencer delete.

+1

Everyone loves hows my MD and RD sound I put some crazy magnaflow tips on it so it really sounds American muscle... which is what bothers me Someone said it sounds like a mustang (i felt like vomitting). Might put the resonator back on when I delete my primary cat. +15 HP ftw. Hopefully it won't sound as raspy.

I love my muffler delete mod. Not too loud and has a nice rumbly tone when you back off the gas pedal. Do not do the delete the resonator! Makes your car sound awful and obnoxiously loud.

This one?

I might be inclined to do this just to avoid getting rid of my stock exhaust assuming of course I don't lose power from something like this. Then again, dumping that big ass muffler that weighs a ton could help for autocross.

OEM Muffler, resonator, and piping weighs a ton!!! Plus for racing IMHO the louder the better. Easier to hear the motor for perfect shifts and other tricks of the trade.

I suppose when my warranty goes kaboom I might have to do this.
