Muffler, Silencer, and/or Resonator Delete Video Archive
Muffler delete was ok... but Muffler/ Resonator/ Silencer delete is sick. High quality tips are highly recommend, not some tips that your shop had lying around. Members who used cheap tips, have been reported hearing a loud whistle at higher RPMs. I used Hooker SS European Cut 3" dual tips.

I love when it revs. very aggressive. doesn't sound like 328 at all.
however, I hate the raspy sound as the rpm drops.. and cabin noise is quite loud.

Once I get a rear bumper I am going with a magnaflow muffler and quads. But for the money a M/D is golden. Also don't forget the weight savings. I saved about 70lbs by gutting the factory exhaust system. With a 10:1 lbs. to hp ratio, that equals to 7 hp gained and a small MPG increase.

Its a deep and throaty sound for sure, but the drone is what stops me from doing this. I did a muffler/res delete on my E46 330Ci and it was too much. I ended up replacing it with a magnaflow catback. Personally I love the sound of V8s and open cutouts. I can deal with that drone. I think the sound my old 330 made at highway speeds was enough to make me bang my head against the steering wheel to stop the headaches from continuing.

But those videos are not the best, it was shot with a cheap camera. In person it sounds phenomenal. Also at the time the videos were shot the delete had only been done for 30 miles or so each video. Not enough time to settle. Drone in cabin kind of sucks at 2400 rpm, that's it though, anything 300 rpms more or less is great. But after 6,000 miles I am still smiling. |
