Another newbie joins

Hello All,
Just joined today, and glad to be here. Have had an '09 335i auto for the past 6 mo, bought it new & love everything about it. Had an '05 CTS-V tuned, etc. for the past 2 1/2-3 yrs. It was quick in a straight line, but didn't handle well, incredibly hard to launch, and broke every other month. I cannot tell you how great it is to have a dealer/manufacturer that wants you to use the car for what it's built for now, just that mindset alone is refreshing.
I have a couple of clear newbie questions...probably ones many of you may be tired of, so let me apologize in advance. I've used the search functionality and gotten some info, but trying to get some recommendations.
Is there a spare tire kit, or is it best to get everything in pieces via ebay (jack, spare rim, etc)? It seems there's sometimes a question of the spare rim clearing the brakes, is this really an issue, or is there a spare rim size or kit that takes the guess work out of that? Some folks have a nice setup in the trunk, so just trying to figure out how to get that all together. Thanks in advance.

Welcome mate, congrats on the car! Any pics?

I'm sure someone will definitely lead you to the HPFP threads... you should probably know about that.

Yes the HPFP is a HUGE issue with 335i's. Mine's in the shop right now for it. Its not terrible since its covered by BMW for 10y 120k miles, but I havent driven my car for.. 3 days now. Starting to feel withdrawal symptoms

About your spare tire, I think people use a 5 series spare kit. Not quit sure from where.

Picts, yes, getting those loaded...usb port issues on my 3 year old Dell. I'll get them up and post a few.
Thanks for the HPFP data point, I'd seen some threads on this, but now after reading it in more detail, it sounds fairly inevitable. Got almost 10K on mine now, I'll keep an eye/ear out for it. Every car has some type of achilles heal, I hope it's just not multiple like my last ride. One in every ride I can accept, 15 is not acceptable. Anyone got odds on this? 1 in every 3, one out of every 2, or 100%...just curious.
Until I get the picts loaded, it's Monaco Blue, Saddle Brown leather interior, auto, and Dinan Stage II. Dyno'd 3-4 months ago at 386 hp & 421 tq. I'm sure I'll hear from the Dinan haters, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I appreciate the welcome and the heads up.

I just saw another thread about the spare tire kit. Its made for the 5 series but also works for the 3 series http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Thanks man, I just saw that thread, so it seems the question is common for newbies. I found one at Bavauto as well, a little different, but says it works too. Thanks again.
