New Member, Help me choose the right 335i

Ok guys I am looking to getting a 335i, I personally love the coupe in the LSB and I am wondering about a manual 6 speed.

Now my question is there is the sport model and non sport modeal??? right?

help a brother out and teach me about the coupe

I was looking at an E46 M3 aswell but to me the coupe is a newer model and better potential for some good mods

thanks guys

I am open to coupes, sedans and auto trannies

Go Sedan (E90) with ZSP (Sport) and Steptronic w/ paddle shifters.

Start from there and decide what other options you want.

I prefer both E90 and E92 body style. It is just matter of preference. The E92 has a unique slick design, and E90, well, it is more versatile. If you don't carry passengers in the back, then go for the coupe, but if once a while you do carry people, then go for the 4 doors.

How often do you carry more than 1 passenger? If regularly, then definately a sedan. If rarely, maybe coupe is better. If you plan on having kids in the next 3-5 years, definately sedan. I have kids, so I have a sedan.

Sport gives you 18 inch wheels, different steering wheel, great seats, and stiffer, lower suspension (not on x-drive models). Sport seats have more adjustments and more side bolstering. Non-sport cars really tend to understeer or push in slow corners.

You really need to drive both sport and non-sport. Drive both back-to-back on the same roads, on the same day. 2 x 30 minute test drives and you'll know which you want.

Sports is not a must .... unless you want can't live without the seats or don't plan on changin wheels. Definitely don't get a sedan unless you have a baby or one on the way. many 335s are still under warranty .... e46 m3s can be gettin into dangerous and expensive territories.

Kinda vague, can't really say without knowing your budget ect. But you shouldn't decide based on what people say on here....go drive the different transmissions and packages and get a feel for them.

Yeah, but now that she's got a new owner, we'll see how she behaves

Coupe vs sedan is all a personal perference, only you can decide on that.

All coupes/verts come standard with sports suspension and steering wheel (not sure about the xi models). Main thing sport package adds for the coupe are the sport seats and higher speed limiter. Non-sport sedans come with none of that. IMO, the sport seats are much more comfy than the non sport ones.

If you plan to upgrade to a ///M steering wheel it'll be much cheaper since you have the sport airbag already which you can reuse, otherwise if will cost you ~ a cool $1 K.

Personally I wouldn't even consider a 335i w/o a sports package.

It's dumb not too. It should be standard. If you don't want sport then get a 5 series.
