M steering wheel peeling

Hey guys,

this question is about my x3 but I figured the same thing must happen to 3's so maybe more people can answer here.

My M-tech steering wheel finish is peeling away and in certain spots I already have .5 cm of exposed gray plastic. Since the car is not under warranty and I'm certain that trim part is at least 150$, how would you go about fixing it? It doesn't look like paint but rather like a cheap rubber skin they applied to the wheel. I've also noticed the window buttons started peeling as well... I'm trying to sell the truck and it makes it look worse that it is :-(

thanks

If you plan on selling it, I wouldn't attempt to remedy it.

if that really becomes a deal breaker while selling, then i would just peel off the rest to make it look uniform...

There's really no way to "fix" it, BUT, you guys can have that piece wrapped in carbon fiber. That would look nice, and wouldn't be too expensive either.
