So today I am driving back to my house from a friends place and I notice that my car just doesn't have the response/power that it normally does. So I get to a more open road and put my foot down to test if I am thinking straight. As soon a do I notice the car is much slower and it ALOT louder. Before I hit 5k "engine malfunction"....

I get home turn it off and turn it back on and the light is gone. I rev it and I notice how it sounds soo much louder, but it is idling fine. I go around the block and "engine malfunction" again. My engine isn't studdering or idling weird, it just has a major lack of power before limp mode even comes in, almost like it already was in limp before it says it. Also, the exhaust is much louder. Anyone heard of this problem?

Thankfully I already have an appointment at the stealership tomorrow to have the seatbelt hander replaced and for a rattle in the front upon cold starts. I am getting a loaner tomorrow but anyone have an idea on what to expect what my problem is going to be?

EDIT:
They said they had to order an inlet pipe? is this a legitimate fix to the problem?

How many miles on your car?

Mine went out with 4500 miles on the clock. I've put another 4500 miles since it was replaced. So far, so good.

Unfortunately, this "club" is no longer exclusive
At least you were not stranded somewhere and needed tow.

This sounds more like a boost issue , hence why the car is louder. Wastegates are stuck open or the solenoids controlling them are defect. This way there is no boost when you floor it and the car will throw 30ff codes.

That definitely seems plausible b/c my car has been making this rattle noise that sounded like something with the wastegates. Thats the main reason why it was already going in today. I'll be bringing her in a few ours, i'll keep it posted.

Be curious to see what it actually is. Your car is under warranty, so no worries.

So I just called the dealership after not having my car yesterday or today and they told me that they had to special order a new inlet pipe. They said they MIGHT have it ready tomorrow. Can someone shed some light on this inlet pipe, Is this a legitimate thing that would cause this problem?
