My "new" '07 BMW 335i

Hi All! I've been lurking on the boards for the past couple of years and I purchased a used '07 335i e90 about 5 weeks ago, but I just now got around to posting pics. It has ~28,500 miles on it, and is BSM with Black interior and aluminum trim. It has sport and premium packages and logic 7 audio. It also has Dinan stage 2 installed by previous owner as well as Linea Corse Strasse wheels and Michelin Pilot PS2 tires. It's in excellent condition inside and out, except for a few dings on the aluminum trim and peeling on the plastic on the steering wheel and driver's door handle. Also, I've already had 3 services, 1 for oil change that was due, 1 for ses light due to "misfire", and last week another ses and 1/2 cel that necessitated a new HPFP (I believe the 2nd on this car) but I'm not upset it's still under warranty and I'll probably extend it, I'm loving this car too much to allow it to depress me. My "wanted" mods are: new sound system, tinted windows, high gloss black trim to replace the aluminum. I've got to do more research on angel eyes and exhaust upgrades and the other things I've read about on this board. Also, is there anything can I do about the peeling trim other than just replacing the parts?

Congrats and welcome. As you probably already know, there is a lot to learn about your car on these forums.

I may be wrong on this one, but if you have the paddles, then I think your car is a 2008. I thought that was the first year that they were an option?

Also, I go to Autohaus- how did you like Suntrup? I think Autohaus and Bimmers 'r Us would be closer for you.

Nope. My 2007 335 E93 had paddles.

I actually purchased it direct from a local seller for cash (he bought a new M3), my mother lives by Suntrup and she has a Z4 so I went there for service the first 2 times, but last time I did go to Autohaus and they were great, replaced my HPFP, reset something that was missed at Suntrup, and the loaner was much nicer--a '10 335xi with all the options navi/comfort access/etc. I think I'll be going there from now on.

Yeah, I love the black, but man it gets hot, I'm going to have to get the windows tinted. Like I said, I'm also considering the high-gloss black trim for a "darth vader" look but i don't know it might be too much black?

My bad on the paddles. Maybe that was true for the 328i. As for Autohaus, they've been great to me. I also got a '10 335xi as a loaner plus $20 voucher for BMW stuff at their store (had a leaking rear diff within the first month of ownership of my '07 CPO 328i). When you bring in a 328i, you don't mind it at all when you get a 335 for the weekend + $20. I'm going to ask for a convertible next time. A friend of mine who is past warranty says Bimmers 'r Us is great.

Ehh. You can make a 335i as fast as a stock M3 for less than the price of an M3.

But no, not a M3 eater. M3 is superior for many reasons.

Do it, it'll be really nice. You can never have too much black when its executed properly. Congratulations and welcome!

Congrats on the car. The peeling trim issue should be a warranty item from your dealer.

Wow, that's covered by warranty as well? I guess I'll have to set up a service appointment. Thanks for the info.

Seems like something that would only be replaced if they deem it necessary though, since its more of a wear-and-tear thing than anything else. Unless you have a very generous dealer. Its definitely not covered under CPO.

How does the Dinan stage 2 feel? Do you think its worth the upgrade from a cpo 335i with no oil cooler? I would have to buy the oil cooler and the stage 2 software?
