Service Light

My display has shown that I need a service. When I checked in the car manual it shows it is a 'Roadworthiness test*' I tried to see what the * means but there is no explanation.
I called BMW in Battersea and spoke to a member of the service department and they said they don't know and that I should ignore it.
Surly this must mean something as it should not display a service in yellow.

Please does anyone know what this means??

Thanks....

Your car probably thinks its due an MOT I think (at least thats what the cars computer things based on whenever the previous light was reset). Can you post a photo of the symbol?

Yep, road worthiness or statutory inspection is the generic term for our MOT test.

You can reset it yourself as it is not a BMW 'service' item, it's just a polite reminder to you to get it done.

Mind you if its an 06 I'd have though it would have had an MOT in 09 (3years old), then be due in 2012???

Whatever, just reset it yourself.

That's inexcusable service from one of the most prestigeous BMW Dealerships in the UK.

If I were the Service Manager, I'd want to know about this and kick some ass.
