CDV hole diameter?

Anyone know the original diameter of the stock CDV? Perhaps a pic comparing stock to a modified one?

I think both are the same. The only difference being the modified one has the guts punched out.

+1

You can just take the stock out and push the guts out and put it back, you don't need to buy anything, but you can if you want to keep the OEM.

I'm just curious because I have a CDV from a M3 and wanted to see the diameter difference between it and a 335/328 one before I do the swap. Looking through the M3 one I really don't see anything in there to punch out? The rumor is the M3 CDV is wide open and less restrictive.

From what I recall when I replaced mine 2 years ago, the stock CDV has a needle sized hole. My RR modified CDV has a larger hole of say, like a medium sized nail.

Like I've told you before, e9x M3's DO NOT come with CDV's. Oh, what a simple can do you for you...

And to those who want a pic reference of a stock e9x 3 series CDV to a modified one:

Modified:

I would think it's best to go with a modified CDV *just in case* a dealer ever decides to look at your CDV because they are identical e9x 3 series parts from the outside.
