Engine tubes/wastegate issue

2007 335i coupe w/ sports package. Dinan stage 2 installed.

Whenever I engage in some...spirited driving on the highway, I get an "engine malfunction, power reduced" message. I took it into the dealer and they informed me that the engine/wastegate looks modified and does not have factory/stock tubes.

1. Please look at the attached pictures to see how my engine is. If possible, attach/link what this should be like stock.

2. why would someone do something like this? someone mentioned that maybe the previous owner had some kind of mod on there?

3. What is the function of this area that is circled, ie the 2 holes/pipes that have nothing connected to them?

Hello.

I was bored so I went downstairs to my car and took pics of my engine for you. The two pics are close-ups of the circled area on your first picture. I have no idea what area your second picture with this hose is of.

My car is a 2010 335i Coupe that I picked up 3 weeks ago. I got it new and it is completely stock. I hope this helps.

If you need more pics of certain areas, don't hesitate to ask!

1. what is the purpose of solenoid bypass method?

2. is this done by itself or in addition to another mod, ie to supplement a jb3?
