Exclamation What should I know before buying my first BMW?

So I decided that I am going to buy myself a little New Years/B-day present. I'm planning on getting a 2007-2008 BMW 328i Coupe. I definitely want the sport and premium packages. I'm still a little iffy on the navigation.

I'll be moving up from a 1998 Toyota Camry. Nice upgrade, I know. Is there anything I should know before buying a BMW?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb post..

Set aside some money for speeding tickets... And be prepared to invest in modding... it's contagious

Don't ever buy one that isn't fully under warranty.

I advise setting a decent amount of money aside for routine maintenance, oil changes and such will cost you a bit more compared to the Camry. As ZNeek stated be prepared to invest in modding, it's very contagious.

Buy new with full 4 years maintenance/warranty.
With the low interests financing it's worth it getting new.

Your avatar says you're getting a 335i. You'll want to save money for maintenance and possibly insurance. Everything will probably be much more expensive than what you're used to.

Stay away from a used BMW with high mileage unless you are very familiar with the car and know what to expect in terms of maintenance. They can last as long as Japanese cars, but the cost will be significantly higher. A 328i is nice, but it may not wow you in terms of an upgrade.
