After 4 weeks of limp mode.....my car is back!

My E90 has been nothing, but trouble since July 2005....but I don't mind I've accepted it......

Latest issue:
Car went into limp mode last month.....my mechanic diagnosed it with #1 & #2 spark plugs misfiring. Ordered and replaced with 6 new NGK plugs last week. Problems didn't go away. He checked all 6 ignition coils....#1 and #2 were bad. Picked up two new ignition coils today at the Stealership. After 4 weeks and $360($260 parts + $100 labor).....I'm back on the road.

Invest in a Peake research tool or Bavarian technic tool. Pays for itself with the 1st scan.

If your mechanic needs four weeks to figure out an ignition problem, you need to find someone who can do it in a shorter time.

I was going to say sweet that they figured it out that quickly. No joke my car was unreliable (stalling repeatedly) for about 5 mos. and I went back and forth with the dealership from which I bought the car new. In this process I never considered trying another dealership--maybe I will next time.

I think it's a combination of not wanting to fix cars while under warranty, bad customer service, and incompetence. They are not totally innocent and not totally incompetent--i.e. part of the lack of properly fixing the problem has to do with them not wanting to. Yet their service bays are all 100% occupied. I can see an indy shop taking a month to figure things out because they haven't got the resources that a new car dealership does.

actually......it took me two weeks to order the NGK spark plugs......

After he put them on........I waited a couple of weeks to buy the ignition coils....

I didn't have time time to get the parts.....and I took the car to him on the weekend.....

I took 4 week to get the parts.....he only took a couple of hours to installed them...
