Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power
I guess it was only a matter of time until my 2007 335xi had fuel pump issues...37,000 miles and it's been taking longer to start. Now I get the Reduced Power message

Hurry up and change the pump with the latest one...it will probably be a permanent fix given the fact that it is also installed on the N55 engine.

Hurry up? As if they will start to use old pumps once the new ones run out? Is that your logic? Sounds silly.
30k here on my original HPFP. [knock wood]

49,500 miles and it just happened to me Saturday night on the freeway, no long cranks. I'm just glad something happened before the warranty expired because I wanted a checkup anyway.

Wow. Lucky break but Id bet the dealer would honor if you over a few hundred miles.

Ya I guess if it was truely HPFP I could car less if it happened at 90k miles. But just in case it isn't, i'll feel good knowing I didn't have to pay out of pocket after the warranty expired.
