Has anyone done this mod in Maryland??? I hear the car will still pass emissions from a couple of post but that area specific. Just curious weither or not to do this or just pay out the ying yang for an exhuast kit...

you will pass emissions. don't worry, it's worth it. keep the resonator though... im putting the resonator back on ASAP

why the res??
i hear it sometimes make a whistling noise. is that because of a bad weld?

I believe the whistling noise is if you use cheap tips. Removing the resonator adds more noise/rasp.

Exactly. Just make sure you get good tips or you will get the whistling.

I've been looking into getting a nice set, in addition i seen recently a guy that converted his 328i exhuast into a 335 dual.............. Been looking into that with some nice 4" tips. Just trying to get around MD emmisions for now without have issues down the line. Thanks for the input. Now i just have to find a shop to do it, i called three places and they said they wont do it...... hhhmmmmm...

Check out this shop in Pasadena, Mandrel Bending Solutions. They should be able to do it, and do it well. You would probably have to bring it in and they would give you an estimate.

dont do it.get an exhaust system or another muffler. It will sound 10 times better. Thats my opinion. I think the muffler delete sounds a little rice, but to eaches own. go with the RE Ikon, Remus, Top Speed, or Eissmann. or if you want something real nice get bmw PE.

youll be happier in the long run, and you lose too much back pressure with the muff delete, therefore decreasing some low end tq. and for our cars, we need all we can get.

Tell me about it, really regreting not getting the turbo's.... Even now debating on turboing the 328 down the line to make up for it.

Just dont want to pay a crap load of money just for a catback, and most of all only gonna see minimal gains from what i've read. Whats the most agressive one out there sound wise????
