Aux plug in 2007+ models

I recently purchased a 2007 Z4M. Today I purchased a cable to connect my iphone to the radio and when I played a song it was horrible. I had to turn the music volume way way up and it did not sound good. Is this the norm or do I have a bad cable?

Assuming you're using an aux plug that connects to your headphone plug, turn the volume on your iPod/iPhone all the way up. That way you don't have to crank your head unit's volume, and that should help with some of the sound quality.

If you're using an aux plug that connects to the docking connection, then yeah, try a new cable. It's never going to sound amazing since it's an aux hookup, but it should be pretty good.

I have one of these (but in black). connect the iPod, then you can use either the aux or USB hookup depending on what car you're using it in.

I got a new cable and its a little better. But I think you are saying that if I get a cable that plugs into the bottom of my Iphone, like the picture, the sounds will be much better?

And my iPod touch with an line out dock connector sounds amazing through the AUX input.

I have Nav and have Aux input control on the radio. (Unless you're talking about something else)

I bought the Monstor Cable 1/8th" connector from Apple's website, and it made a difference over a cheap one. Like Nmulax said... turn your volume all the way up on your Ipod and enjoy.

How do you access this? Maybe is missing in older non-mp3 playing radios.

My blackberry sounds really good through the aux but I have to turn it up all the way on my phone. I have a really short (12") RadioShak cable though. The longer the cable, the more distortion you will get.

Oh I thought you were talking about AUX input level, a setting to boost the volume of the aux.
